Charlotte Sawyer is a 22 year old girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Her mother is sick, her father is a drunk and her brother is her responsibility. So when her brother gets the illness that her mother has, Charlotte is determined to figure out what is causing it.
But it is harder than she expected when her whole town becomes infected with the virus that is immune to all antibiotics and bodies start dropping. Charlotte is one of the few left and entrusts her neighbour Ben to get the answers she needs.
Except the answers are not meant to be known and when she realizes that the illness is man-made her hunt for the truth makes her the hunted.
How can she save her little town and her brother's life if she is fighting for her own?
Who can she turn to with the truth of what is happening when everyone who is meant to fight for human's, is on the side that is killing them?
